Walking around the Expo I like to ask people questions about why they visit: Do they come every year? Did they already get anything new? Do they have a special connection to RFL? I asked if I could add their answers and a picture to my blog of course. These are just short transcripts of the conversations we had.

anandaheart: hi Maya, I am blogging at the Expo, can I ask you a question?
Maya : Ask away!
anandaheart: What makes you come to the expo? Did you get anything new? Do you come each year?
Maya : I volunteer as a host for a lot of RFL events. I am shopping even as we speak, and I have bought a few things but I mostly save my money for donations at the Holly Jolly while I host. And yes I come every year. =)
anandaheart: Ah you host there, that is good to know 🙂
anandaheart: Is there a particular reason for volunteering at RFL? Can I ask? I am a breast cancer survivor my self
Maya: I volunteer because cancer has ravaged my family and took my dad. \o/ survivor! hugs
Maya: I can’t cure cancer, but when they finally do I’ll be up in heaven somewhere saying “I helped do that”.

anandaheart: Hi Chris, would you mind if I ask you a question about why you are visiting? And if you got anything new?
Chris Camberley-Lionheart: Well I have come as every year, mostly to admire all the new nicely made regions. I do usually not buy anything on faires but a donation is of course a must.
anandaheart: I love the regions this year.
anandaheart: Can I ask if you have a special connection to RFL? I am a survivor myself 🙂
Chris Camberley-Lionheart: Not in particular to RFL but I always support it as I have family members myself who survived cancers. Sadly 2 died of it, but its been a while ago already
anandaheart: I am so sorry for your loss, it seems a lot of us sadly have lost someone.
Chris Camberley-Lionheart: Yes, but I am very glad you made it through and defeated cancer

anandaheart: Can I ask if you have a special connection to RFL?
Chris: Not personally in terms of myself or a friend or relative. I’m just eager to support the cause.
anandaheart: And did you get a horse item? As you just tp-d in probably not yet.
Chris: I came to check out a couple of things but I ended up not getting them.
anandaheart: Thank you, that is always so kind!
Chris: I’m a medical professional in RL, but for horses lol.
anandaheart: Have you been before to this event?
Chris: I like them. I think last year I missed it though. They’re always fun and lots of cool things to look at and buy if you want and all for a good cause.
anandaheart: Do you mind if I quote you in my blogpost and if possible also with a picture of you?
Chris : Absolutely.
Chris: I should have dressed better. You caught me in my barn clothes 🙂

Chris : I ride a lot. I have a sim that is a farm with lots of places to ride on it. And there are tons all over SL.
Chris : I have a Teegle Thoroughbred. Actually several of them. It’s super fun, just to ride around. And they are so good now, you can jump, do dressage, barrel races, everything.
anandaheart: Yes everything is much more realistic nowadays. Thank you so much for your time, I have to go now, have a good day!

Wolfie: No, I’m just visiting here myself 8o

Wolfie: Yes, we visit each year or at least try to, haven’t bought anything yet, trying to see if there’s anything fun decor to take home to put on display 83
Wolfie: I guess as for connections I helped with some of the sci-fi fairs that were gathering money for RFL too

anandaheart: Oh I love decor 🙂 and on the Expo sims the decor stuf is amazing.
Wolfie: Yes, I just want something silly like I think I bought a Christmas tree cutout piece or something weird last time that still is on the wall somewhere 83

Tish: Doing OK
anandaheart: I am blogging at the expo and I like to ask people I run into a couple of question to put in a blogpost. This is probably not your first visit to a Christmas Expo? Did you get anything yet? Or plan to?
Tish: I’ve gotten a few small items but will be getting some of the breedables next week. I did pick up a set of 4 WK elephants at the auction yesterday. They were so cute & I got a great deal too. anandaheart: Elephants, that sounds amazing! Can I ask you, do you have a special connection with RFL?
Tish: Both my Mom’s parents died of cancer and I’ve lost dear friends as well.
anandaheart: I am so sorry for your loss, that is always so hard around the holidays.
Tish: It has been some time but I do still miss them.
anandaheart: Yes, I miss my father too.
anandaheart: Your last name is also very christmassy 🙂
Tish: I’ve been in SL since 2007 so I’ve seen a lot of changes over the years.
Tish: I had to chose from a list of last names back then & I love Christmas so Noel it was.

Cami: Hey ananda, i’m here ;). just ask your question.
anandaheart: For my blog I do a post asking visitors at the Expo or 2 questions, would you mind participating?
Cami: Sure. But I just arrived here, so I dunno if I’ll be of any help 😉
anandaheart: Just a general question: do you have like a personal connection with RLF?
Cami: Help me please, what does RLF stand for? I think it has something to do with cancer?
anandaheart: yes, it’s Relay for life, the organisation the expo is supporting, officially it is: SL Christmas Expo – A fundraising event in support of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Second Life.
Cami: Well, luckily I personally haven’t .. but a lot of people I knew suffered from cancer, breast cancer, a brain tumor and such.
anandaheart: That is awful, so sorry for your loss. I am at an age I know this for people around me as well, it seems so many have our lives affected by cancer in one way or another, it is sad.
Cami: Yes, absolutely true. Especially when it comes to family members or friends.
anandaheart: Are you planning to get something? Or just looking around? And did you know the Lindens are gonna be at the Expo too? Specially this evening there will be a photo opp with the ever so popular Patch Linden as Santa, that is always fun to watch 🙂
And last question: Did you visit the expo before, earlier years?
Cami : LOL yeah, I’m aware of it. Before I tp’ed here, I took a look at the Christmas Expo web site and sorted through the schedule. And yes again, I’m planning on buying something to support this project. It’s so important in my opinion and a real good thing. I’m glad that SL offers the opportunity for projects like this or others.
Cami: As for your last question, last year I didn’t go here, but the years before I did.
anandaheart: Thank you so much for your time!
