I had breast cancer in 2013 and went through a chemo, having an operation, and radiation in 2013 and 2014.
I already lost one of my aunts to cancer and also my oldest dearest best friend, who I knew from my childhood years.
This is why I relay, and remember, and with Fantasy Faire it is not even for the cancer funding in my own country, but I do love Fantasy Faire and hope to be a small part of it as long as I can be in SL. It combines much of what I love, helping others, being in SL and dressing up, fashion, what is not to love. I mostly am the princessy type on the Fairegrounds, loving my gowns 🙂
I hope no one comes at that point that you have an exam and the docter tell’s you it is cancer. Or the point you have to tell family and close friends and see people tear up in front of you, and that is really weird, cause now it is about yourself.
I like to stay positive. Having had this illness, and all the aftermath it gives me, still today, and all the uncertainty for the future, it also brought someone very valuable. I found myself on a deeper level of me, shedding layers of unnecessary stuff, people I didn’t need in my life, a bad relationship, insecurity about myself. And I found so much love, friendship and help from unexpected places. I was able to better guard my bounderies, take all the time I need to recover and just don’t put up with any bs anymore ever.
Oh and if you are Dutch you can read my rl blog, I wrote a little during that time, it is not much, but here it is https://vandaagbestaatalleenvandaag.wordpress.com/
